Division Grand Rounds
Grand rounds are held every Wednesday except for the fourth Wednesday of the month (when departmental rounds are held).
Mortality & Morbidity Round
- Held at The Ottawa Hospital (General Campus) every Thursday
- Held at The Ottawa Hospital (Civic Campus) every Thursday.
- Trauma Rounds (Civic Campus) are held the fourth Thursday of each month.
Resident Teaching
- Academic half-day is every Wednesday afternoon.
- Case discussion at the Women’s Breast Health Centre every Monday at noon.
- University academic symposium on legal, ethical and other issues is held for PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents, one day each quarter.
- Twice per month a tutorial is held for preparation for the Principles of Surgery exam.
- Twice per month surgical skills teaching is given for PGY-1 and PGY-2 residents.
- Evidence-Based Journal Club is held every two months.
- Residents’ Research Day is held yearly in April.
Undergraduate Teaching
Surgery and anaesthesia clerkship seminars are provided to third-year medical students.
