Biography

Dr Wilson is an associate professor. She trained in medicine at the Universities of St Andrews and Edinburgh in the UK, and did residency training in internal medicine and public health medicine. She spent ten years on the faculty of the University of Aberdeen, and was an honorary Consultant in Public Health Medicine to Grampian Health Board. She joined the Department of Epidemiology and Community Medicine in Ottawa in 2002.

Dr Wilson applies her public health training to questions of emerging health technologies, particularly genomics in medicine and public health. Her interdisciplinary research program spans a broad questions pertaining to the evidence base for genome-based tests and health interventions, effective service delivery models, and social and family implications of genomics.
