Research Interests:

Application of molecular biology to the development of methods for detection and study of pathogens important to Canadian animal health programmes. In particular Dr. Nadin-Davis has a long-standing collaboration with the Rabies group of CFIA. She has developed extensive expertise in the molecular characterisation of rabies viruses.

Recent projects include:

  • Use of genetic barcoding to identify rabies positive bats to species
  • Development of a real-time PCR method to identify Taylorella equigenitalis responsible for cervial equine metritis
  • Development of molecular methods to discriminate two sub-species of Campylobacter fetus, C. fetus fetus and C. fetus venerealis

Administrative Positions:

2000 – present: Adjunct professor, Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology, and member of the school for graduate studies, University of Ottawa.
