Can I designate my gift to a particular program? Yes. Your gift to the University of Ottawa may be designated to the Faculty of Medicine and to a specific initiative or project within the Faculty.
How do I create an endowment fund? A named endowment fund requires a gift (paid in full or pledged and paid over a number of years) of $10,000. There are many areas that require endowed support from scholarship/bursary support to chairs and professorships.
Can I designate a bequest to the Faculty of Medicine? Yes. Donors may stipulate in writing that they want the gift to be designated to the Faculty of Medicine and thus ensure their gift helps build endowments for medical school programs. For more information, please contact The Advancement Office.
Does my gift make a difference? Yes, every gift makes a difference and has an impact on the Faculty by helping provide much-needed support such as financial assistance to students, resources for education, equipment, endowed chairs and much more.
Is my gift tax deductible? Yes, gifts in Canadian or U.S. dollars are eligible for tax credits or are tax deductible. If you are living in the United States please contact the Faculty Development Officer (613) 562-5800, ext. 8867 for more information.
